mental ray issues
simon and i found some interesting things when rendering in mental ray. Our limestone wall which was mapped with diffuse, bump and displacement maps would render at some views and not others, was very weird and bloody frustrating to find a render that both looked good and showed our custom texture.we also had huge problems with 3ds max 2009 not wanting to open on simon account, the account we were both using to render off; so that caused some problems when it came to popping the final renders out.
As for the rest of mental ray, all went fairly smoothly, some stupid mistakes but got around them. And produced an end result im very happy with.
