Webiste adjustments

I've made a few post hand-in adjustments to my website to aid navigation. I'm still not sold on whether the site is well spaced and clear, or merely devoid of content that should have been completed by now. See for yourself

rhys and i have successfully got our model in both light studio and mental ray, now its time to apply the right materials to each surface, and figure out the views we want to render.  prior to that though we both need to finish our websites off, mines pretty much done just needs a bit of tweaking although im not happy with it currently as i have used tables in dreamweaver so i have been working on a new site which includes jquearys and whatnot, once im done with it all ill have to do is transfer it to the school computers as its currently being hosted from home.

Website

Spent the last couple of days working on my website, learning as I go. Had a few problems with making it fit any resolution but am looking into some online tutorials which look promising. Made a new website plan which has helped a lot, ensuring I get everything into the site and have it in a logical order so it is easier to navigate.

Fixed the parts of our model that need to be fixed which we found when we joined our model with the revised levels (the existing levels made the top floor half the height of the bottom floor).

max 2009 model

a little bit behind on the bloggs!
revit model has been totaly completed and joined with matts. site topography is complete so our revit model is finished. we had a few issues with the very large number of polygons in 3ds max 2009. this was due to the many railings we had throughout the building. this was resolved by reducing the polygons of the railings - we created seprate profiles to make them hexagonal rather than circular. This significantly reduced the size of our model in 3ds max 2009.
another problem we have encounted is that our mullions have holes in them. these are caused by the curtain wall grid lines being so close 2gether in some areas. we are woking on this atm.

I have created the base of my website and i am currently trying to upload it to the web.
hopefuly this will be one soon :)

Grand Rapids Art Museum

Well today showed a bit more promise. I now have 2 fully functional max files. Had a few problems with the light studio model due to an excessive amount of polygons being imported from AutoCAD. However now I am getting renders through both light studio and mental ray. Materials are being applied at the moment and after a few questions to the tutors my previous website will be getting updated over the next few days in time for the hand in.

alrighty, time for a catchup, the last few blogs i tried to post didnt come through (turns out my browser doesnt like blogging very much!) anywhos the interim review went ok, rhys and i still had a bit left to do with modelling at that stage, he was finishing the exterior while i was fixing up and putting final touches on the interior (funishing and what-not) which i have been working on and some images are below... in recent developments however rhys seems to have lost his flash drive and is unsure whether he has another backup file on the computers at school..........sooooooooooo might have to start the exterior again...and maybe find a quicker way of doing it..will talk to tutors tomorrow if flash drive/file cant be found.. :( the images below are done in revit:

as stated in one of my previous posts that didnt load, i did my website at home rather than on the school computers, the address is http://tina.rubixcube.co.nz/

think thats all for now :-)

NMOCA - merged

Our building is at a stage where it is suitably complete to for us to merge what we had done and start our renders, with only one stage to be done beforehand...adding in some furniture/objects that gave our initial renders some scale. As the tables in the lobby are most certainly not a simple, stock table, these were created in AutoCAD using the loft tool. Some rather funky chairs were also added, filling in the cafe and making the lobby seem so much more a lobby...might need to add some actual artwork to the galleries however for the final renders to truly make the space seem used and occupied. (below for example)

With everything merged and ready to be continued at home
(some renders and website integration still to be done), laptops were packed up, books packed away, and the school vacated...unfortunately with a usb still (well, hopefully) stuck in the computer...looks like I might be getting some sleep tonight after all lol.

By the way, finally sorted out how to sync my web files onto my macs Dreamweaver, something I was concerned wasn't going to work (after the 5th attempt at school). However, after resetting the settings for the site, and accessing the files from home, it worked, so I currently have atleast something up for now, with more to come tommorrow/later today (sadly it's already after midnight).

The above images were taken from the New Museum's official website...click here to visit

Novy Dvur progress and website

My model is progressing along, it was good to catch up with Andy and talk over some areas of concern and find the best options to tackle some areas.
Looking forward to testing out massing for the vault ceilings and window voids.
I've created a website over the break and just uploaded it. It's all working! just need to link my CAD models. www.bbsc303.com/jennyduck/

Back to 303 and Novy Dvur

After taking a hiatus from 303 I thought I better get back into it. Now I'm a bit worried by the amount of progress the rest of you seem to be making.
Anyway I've got my website all done, ready for those final renders to be done.
Jenny did a good job with the grids, so I should be able to get most the walls up tonight or tomorrow. Model-wise I got the site done today, as the gradient is quite important for any views which include the cloister.

update & website

as the basement of our building is underground (obviously), and it cant be seen, we have decided to only model the necessary parts of it (the gallery), we have applied the same idea to the upstairs, we are modelling the exterior of the building and then ignoring servies areas of the interior....tried to upload a picture but it didnt want to work :S

my site is also up and running, havnt added everything yet as its still a work in progress, will try fins the time and get everything needed on there by the start of next week, the site is http://tina.rubixcube.co.nz/
