The Vontz Centre, Frank O Gehry: Using the prescribed AutoCAD tutorial we gained a basic awareness of the 3D modelling procedure and capabilities of the AutoCAD Architectural Desktop programme. It was useful to have had some previous experience with the AutoCAD Lt drawing package as the general layout, menus and data input of the programmes were similar.
AutoCAD was able to successfully sculpt this complex shape and it quickly became evident that this programme would be useful when modelling irregular shapes. Download completed AutoCAD model

Villa Savoye, Le Corbusier: Using the prescribed Revit Tutorial we modelled the Villa Savoye. The tutorial presented a good overview of the capabilities of the programme and its strengths in modelling
The programme has a good library of items which could be easily inserted into the model, these can easily be modified and adjusted in size where required.
Although Revit can deal with curved and complex shapes using massing, it seems best suited to models with more traditional features. Download completed Revit model

A House in Pregassona, Mario Botta: Using the prescribed ArchiCAD Tutorial we produced the Mario Botta model to render. Archicad is a programme I have had little experience with but I did find the functionality and data input quite easy to follow and did not take long to produce the finished model.
Like Revit this programme seems suited to the more traditional design with regular, straight walls and conventional roof forms. There is a excellent library system which allows good flexibility and individual choice. Download completed ArchiCAD model
